My Life is an Offering
“We are called to be women. The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian does make me a different kind of woman. For I have accepted God’s idea of me, and my whole life is an offering back to Him of all that I am and all that He wants me to be.”
~ Elizabeth Elliot, Let Me be a Woman
This quote is the very heartbeat within me. Spoken above are the words of purpose, calling, and conviction that God has taught me over and over again in my walk with Him. When I am embracing who God has made me (a woman) and allowing Him to change me - to be transformed - from the inside out into the woman He has called me to be (a Christian) then I am living my life as an offering to Jesus.
This is our calling: to live life embracing who God has made us, and in the same breath surrendering all of us back to Him as an offering. Just as Jesus sacrificed Himself for us as an sweet offering to God, we can follow (and should follow) in His steps by presenting our bodies, mind, soul, and spirit, to Him as the greatest offering we an give.
“…and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him…” 2 Corinthians 5:15
Everything God has made me and given me, I need to give (daily) back to Him.
This is my offering.

I heard that quote in a talk ages ago and ever since I have been trying to find it.
It sums everything up so simply
Amen! We are also called to give our bodies as a living sacrifice.
I really like that quote. The girls in our church are planning on studying Let Me Be a Woman together in the near future.
That sounds really fun, Margaret! I love that book.
